Book design

At MHPS we can design your book both inside and out. We will work with you to design a cover that is eye-catching and suitable for your publication and audience, and design the interior of your book so that it is attractive and easy to read (this process is often called 'typesetting'). A clear layout is an essential part of producing a successful publication. A design that is confusing or difficult to read is frustrating for readers and makes it hard for them to enjoy or understand the text. Frustrated readers will usually stop reading.

We can scan images from either film or hard-copy, touch them up and place them in your publication, or extract the text from an existing printed document using optical character recognition (OCR) scanning. We can also draw graphs, diagrams, tables and charts, and take photographs for your publication. We can work in black only or full colour, and arrange the printing. If you already have a preferred printer, we can supply you with print-ready files in any format.

At MHPS we use the latest design and publishing computer applications to give you the best results. When your job is finished we will supply you with final print-ready files for your own use, and we can also supply web-ready files for your website.
